Yeah, I guess running the dragon with 280lb vehicle with 1HumanPower would be painful and slow.

Alright everybody! We're researching lodging and local 'life' at all of these areas... We hope to be able to nail down some definitive locations and dates and choose from there...

Thanks!

Count me and my 8 in for April - DGRR yo :)  That camp ground looks amazing.  I SWEAR I will make up for missing the EECMM in October and bring plenty of cider for April.  If you promise not to bounce her off the guard rails I will even share the power of the rotary  ;D, aka let you touch my Wankel...

A location  and date is supposed to be decided after the holidays are over, hope so. I need to put in for vacation time early to be assured of getting what I want.

State Road 15 - West Virgina
West Virginia claims to be "almost heaven," and a day of driving its less beaten paths will likely confirm that claim. Countless small state roads follow the ridges of the Appalachian Mountains, providing spectacular views and mile after mile of twisty roads.

State Road 15 is one such route. The 65-mile drive between Interstate 79 and US 219 will take the better part of of two hours, more if you stop to take in the beauty. The scenery is mostly forest, and what little traffic you encounter might be logging trucks. But don't worry about them holding you up; chances are they'll be outpacing you, even with a full load.

Devil’s Staircase (NC 80 from Micaville, NC to Lake Tahoma, NC)
The sleeper of the bunch. We stumbled onto this one purely by accident, and what a happy accident it was. Comparable in grade to the Diamondback – that is to say, steep – but with prettier views and corners that flow a little better by virtue of not being quite as tight. If all we could ever drive for the rest of our days was this road, we’d be happy— a testament to just how good it is

Tennessee State Route 52
There are a lot of jokes about rural Tennessee, and some of them are actually true. If you want to investigate the sister-lovin', corncob-smokin' stereotype for yourself, drive into northern Tennessee and take State Road 52 from Interstate 65 to Interstate 75. Make sure to fuel up at the exit before heading east, lest you wish to pay for it later with yer purty mouth. Look up the term "backwoods" in the dictionary, and there will likely be a map with a star on this road.

If you're not too scared by the prospect of having a breakdown in the town of Red Boiling Springs, you'll find this drive one of the more exhilarating (and exhausting) in the eastern half of the country. Chances are you'll have the road to yourself, so be careful not to plant your car into one of the sheer rock faces that serve as guardrails along many of the off-camber, 20-mph turns. This is a road where you pack light, strap everything down, and focus on the task at hand. By the time you've made it to I-75 you'll be sweating and ready for a break. If you think you might be lost, just look for the barn with the Mail Pouch Tobacco ad painted on the side. Can't miss it.

Wolf Pen Gap/Blood Mountain - GA
Beside the Dragon, I doubt you can find a more challenging ride in the Appalachians.

That's a great setup, I have the same wheels but with Bridgestone RE-11's. The FD wheels are light and bolt right up. I only use my set when going to Deals Gap, and call them my Deals Gap setup.

The R-S3s are supposed to be even grippier than the RE-11s so when I get my springs and shocks, I'm interested to see what happens on the next Dragon Run.  Take your extra 120whp out of the equation (aka the tight stuff), I think you'll have some competition :)

You are right about being grippier but the RE-11's are a better all around tire with only a slight edge going to the R-S3 in grip. The Re-11's are very predictable as they break loose progressively giving you feedback before they break all the way.

You'll find I never shy away from a challenge. Accepted. You do have an awesome set up now so you should do well. I try to tell people all the time that rubber matters when at Deals Gap.

You saw how hard I ran with just V12s last time.  Im interested what will happen with RS3s and a new, bigger RSB for sure.  Hoping for Swift springs and Koni Yellows by then.

We have the same taste in tires, I have V12's on my stockers for DDing. V12's are a grippy tire too but the sidewall flexes some but with added pressure it is minimal.

I've noticed.  I have to run my V12s at 41psi cold for DD and track.  I wore the sidewalls out BAD in the first 2k miles from running hard to 32-34psi (cold)
