Bring a nice thick sleeping bag and long underwear with wool socks to keep the toes toasty at night. Bring more than you think you will need, to be safe.

I have the sleeping bag situation covered.
It's nice and warm.

I just wanted to be sure for t-shirts and such.
I guess I'll just be bringing hella long sleeve shirts.

Should be a blast though.
As the day gets closer, I keep getting more and more excited.

Friday's drive should leave around 2 pm. I suggest we go down the Dragon with a short stop at the lake before we turn around and go back down the Dragon stopping at Deals gap for a restroom break. From the Gap we should go down the Hellbender over to Fontana Dam with a short stop there before returning back to Deals Gap and then back to the Camp Grounds. That should be enough in the short time we will have Friday afternoon. Anyone wanting to make a night run down the tail?

I want to make a big loop on Saturday that will take us down the Dragon and around to scenic hwy 360 and connect to hwy 165 taking us to 143 Cherohala Skyway and back to Robbinsville. This is a big loop that we did at EECMM 2009 and was a blast. There will be many stops so it should take most of the day.

What does everyone think about this action plan?

For Friday, we might bail on that.
I can attest that last time, spending almost 10 hours in a car, as soon as I got there, I wanted nothing to do with the dragon at that time.

However, the next day, I was straight down for it.

We'll see how the day goes.
We might make a night run, but, we'll have to see.

I will be there mid day Friday. I will be bringing 2 other cars with me. We are staying in Pigeon Forge so on Fri we will be arriving and getting set up. We would be open for a late night run on Fri night. What time and where can we meet the group on Sat?

I'm not sure when we will leave Saturday morning for the all day drive. Get there early as you can and if you miss us then go down the Dragon, we will probably stop at the lake before we continue on.

I was never "in" to begin with lol..

I would like to go but the bar raped my account on Saturday.

I would find some way to come down if Dan or Alex were going :) lol

Alex just replied on a 247 thread that he may make it to Epic Camp.

I say we all meet either at the top of the dragon, or at deals gap, and we pick a time.

Cell service is non-existent on the dragon, as I'm sure most of you know.
If we're gonna be driving the bulk of the day Saturday.... I vote somewhere around 8-9.
Not outrageously early, but not too late as to get tangled up with everybody else riding the dragon.
It's hella cold though, so I doubt we'll see as many motorcycle caravans as in the summer, but I'm sure they'll be some.

What does everybody else think?
Atleast this way we can say "here's a time,we're leaving at "x" time, if your late, catch up"

Last time we made a run, We just said meeting <insert location> at <Insert time>, Leaving by <Insert later time> be there.
If not, expect us to be at Deals gap around <Insert reasonable time>.

It seemed to work pretty well.

I just think this way, it gives everybody a fir chance to get to one location.
if they don't make it, it's their own fault.

Not having cell service just makes everything a little harder for planning.

I know this is last minute, But if we can figure this out today and pass it around, i think we're going to have a better turn out.

Same thing for the night run.
I say if people want to make a Friday night run, just throw a time and a meeting place out there.
If people show, they show, if they don't, they don't.

So who wants to step up and set the time for us to meet on Sat. Would the Shell/ Mc Donalds in Robbinsville be a good place to meet on Sat. morning at 9am

Robinsville is far from what? Where is the 411 walmart? I know I will be with 3 other cars and we are willing to meet anywhere, just let us know. We will be coming from Gatlinburg.

EECMM 2009 in Robbinsville was the best yet. The Smockey Mountain Mansion was very nice. I believe DCL would have been it's equal.

The Campers will be on the other side of the Dragon from 411 about 6 miles from Robbinsville.  The campers will have to drive the Dragon and then 10 more miles to meet at 411 walmart.

I plan on driving some Friday afternoon and also making a night run down the Dragon. Taking a nice slow drive up the Skyway and back down around sunset on Friday would be nice. Later that night a Dragon run.

Lets meet at the Gas station were the Skyway 143 meets 129 around 4 pm on Friday for those that want to drive up the Skyway and watch the sun set.

The night run down the Dragon could be around 8 pm. Those camping will leave the camp grounds around then and those that are not camping meet at Deals Gap at 8:15. The camp ground is not far from Deals Gap so we could just all meet there at 8 pm with a quick stop at the Gap to see if anyone is waiting there.

Saturday's big drive could leave the Camp ground at 9 AM heading down the Dragon with a brief stop at the lake before heading over to 411  and connecting to 360.  360 is a nice scenic drive which takes us to 165 and then the Skyway 143 which completes the loop back to Robbinsville.

So are we meeting at the camp ground on Sat morning? We are out for Fri night. Im preaty sure after the drive from Fla we will be ready to take a break from driving. I thought the Mcdonalds in Robbinsville would be a great location that way everyone can get snacks and fuel up. Just let me know where we can meet, I'm really open for anything.

So we're meeting at the campground on Saturday?
Either way, I'll be there.

We may make the night run on Friday night, but it's gonna be 11 hours in the car on Friday.
We'll see

The camp grounds are in route to the Dragon on 129 six miles from Robbinsville, Stop at Mcdonalds on your way and bring everyone bisquits. I'm sure you will get paid for them, probably could even turn a profit on starving campers.
